Today Veeam and HP announced that they would be integrating Veeam Availability Suite v9 with HP StoreOnce Catalyst. Veeam has been integrated with HP 3PAR StoreServ and StoreVirtual snapshots for years. This latest integration takes steps to further enhance data protection for virtual environments while improving performance.
Veeam Availability Suite offers data protection for virtualized applications and data. HP StoreOnce is a disk based deduplication and backup target. HP StoreOnce Catalyst is an optimized backup and recovery solution that uses a more efficient protocol than NAS or VTL for better performance. Catalyst also allows users to choose where their backup deduplication takes place, optimizing resources and bandwidth. The combination of the two technologies offers several benefits.
