Apple Issues Hard Drive Recall

Apple iMacApple is recalling Seagate 1TB hard drives sold within iMac systems because the drives "may fail under certain conditions." Affected iMac systems include 21.5" and 27" models that were sold between May and July of this year.


Apple is recalling Seagate 1TB hard drives sold within iMac systems because the drives "may fail under certain conditions." Affected iMac systems include 21.5" and 27" models that were sold between May and July of this year.

Apple or authorized service providers will replace the bad hard drives free of charge. Apple is emailing customers about the issue and they have posted a form to check your serial number to see if your system needs to be serviced.

This is probably a good time to remind Mac owners that Time Machine is dead simple to use and helps protect against drive failures – use it often!
