Over the past year, many have been forced to remote work and remote education. But even before this, data needed to be always available. Outages and downtime make work and school more difficult and can cost businesses quite a bit, including customers. Backup and disaster recovery are one step of getting things moving again when a failure arises but there is still a gap of time with no access. The world of regulations has responded by requiring synchronous data mirroring to prevent outages and critical data loss. Dell EMC PowerStore metro node comes just in time to help with the above challenges.
One of the ways in which Dell EMC PowerStore metro node addresses business continuity is its active-active metro configurations. Active-passive solutions are common in the industry and some active-active and thought to not be truly set up this way. The Dell EMC PowerStore metro node claims to be a true active-active configuration that allows simultaneous writes at both sites and supports Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) equal to zero. Zero means no data loss and no time to recover, meaning no downtime. The node also has an automatic initiation of an instant site failover for further protection.
