Today KIOXIA America, Inc. announced its latest PCIe Gen4 SSD with the KIOXIA XG7/XG7-P Series. This new PCIe Gen4 SSD is for OEMs that supply drives for notebooks, desktops, and workstations. With this announcement, KIOXIA now has PCIe Gen4 drives across the enterprise, data center, and client space.
Today KIOXIA America, Inc. announced its latest PCIe Gen4 SSD with the KIOXIA XG7/XG7-P Series. This new PCIe Gen4 SSD is for OEMs that supply drives for notebooks, desktops, and workstations. With this announcement, KIOXIA now has PCIe Gen4 drives across the enterprise, data center, and client space.
The new drives are built for demanding PC environments. They offer roughly twice the sequential read speed and about 1.6x the sequential write speed of PCIe Gen3 drives. The higher speed of the KIOXIA XG7/XG7-P Series is aimed at content creators, gamers, and professionals. The new series leverages a new in-house controller vertically integrated with KIOXIA’s BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory that supporst the NVMe 1.4 specification and System Management Bus (SMBus) for improved system thermal management through a sideband channel.
For capacity, the KIOXIA XG7 256GB, 512GB and 1024GB in an M.2 2280 form factor. The XG7-P Series comes in 2048GB and 4096GB capacity.
The new KIOXIA XG7/XG7-P Series is shipping qualification samples to select customers.
