Samsung has announced the latest addition to its extensive and highly popular microSD card portfolio, the Samsung PRO Endurance. Designed specifically to handle the demands of surveillance, dashboard, doorbell, and body cameras, Samsung’s new microSD card features improved endurance over its predecessors. It also features necessary transfer rates to handle continuous capture, playback and always-on video monitoring and is offered in four capacities: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Samsung Pro Endurance features the company’s enterprise-grade NAND flash memory and specced to deliver up to 16 years (i.e., 140,160 hours) of continuous recording time. This allows consumers to save on both time and replacement costs. We previously reviewed an older generation of the Samsung Pro Endurance microSD card back in 2018.
For performance, the Pro Endurance is quoted with read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 40MB/s, respectively. It also has a Class 10 rating with video speed ratings of up to U3 (UHS Speed Class 3) and V30 (Video Speed Class 30). Samsung indicates that this makes it great for dealing with larger, high-resolution files and Full HD and 4K videos (both recording and playback).
Because out surveillance and other use cases like body cameras often have to cope with the elements, the Pro Endurance features Samsung’s six-proof durability. This comprises protection against water, hot/cold temperatures, x-rays, magnetic fields, drops, and wear-outs.
The Samsung Pro Endurance line is priced at $10.99 (32GB), $15.99 (64GB), 27.99 (128GB), and $54.99 (256GB), and is available now, worldwide.
