Leostream Cloud Connects Remote Users to Specific Workstations Without a VPN Through an Outbound Agent

Företag  ◇  Mjukvara

Leostream announced Leostream Cloud, a cloud-based remote access service, available now, that connects authorized users directly to physical and cloud-hosted workstations and other protected resources. The service combines identity-based authentication with policy-driven resource assignment, so users see and reach only the systems they are cleared to use. Leostream says that model can replace or avoid a VPN wherever remote users need one specific workstation or system without broader access to the corporate network.

Outbound Connectivity and Centralized Access Policies

The Leostream Cloud Agent uses outbound connectivity, so organizations can offer access to protected resources without exposing remote access services such as RDP or SSH directly to the internet. Users sign in through a central portal that lists only their authorized resources, while IT manages access policies and resource assignments in one place. Leostream Cloud keeps logs of remote activity and can optionally record sessions for later review.

“Remote access has traditionally been associated with providing users a path into the corporate network, often through a VPN, but in many cases that is more access than they actually need,” said Karen Gondoly, CEO of Leostream. The service also handles vendor privileged access management (VPAM), so administrators can give contractors and other third-party users access to specific approved resources without opening the broader network to them.

Leostream positions the service as one part of a Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA), applying identity and policy at the point of access. It is built for one specific ZTNA component, connecting authenticated users to individual workstations and protected resources without giving them access to the surrounding network.

Protocol Support Across Physical and Cloud Resources

Leostream Cloud works across physical workstations, data centers, branch or project sites, and cloud environments, with RDP, VNC, SSH, HTML5, Amazon DCV, Jump Desktop, and Sunshine/Moonlight available as connection protocols. Leostream lists engineers on CAD workstations, creative professionals on cloud GPU resources, researchers on Linux systems, and contractors on approved systems among the target scenarios, all managed from the same platform with the protocol chosen per user and workload.

Leostream is also pitching the service to organizations evaluating alternatives to HP Anyware, pointing to support for multiple protocols and for physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted resources without tying users to one protocol or infrastructure model. Leostream Cloud is available now, and Leostream has not published pricing or licensing terms.
