Quantum all-flash DXi T-Series appliances are the first 1U high-performance deduplication systems supporting up to 480TB of NVMe capacity.
Quantum Corporation has unveiled two new high-capacity models to its all-flash DXi T-Series data protection lineup: the DXi T-10-240 and DXi T-10-480. These new appliances represent a significant leap forward in data protection technology, introducing the industry’s first 1U high-performance deduplication systems with up to 480TB of raw NVMe capacity. By leveraging this dense, flash-based architecture, Quantum enables organizations to safeguard more data in less physical space while also delivering faster backup and recovery operations.
The DXi T-10-240 and T-10-480 are engineered for high-performance environments that demand enterprise-class data protection without the overhead of a full-scale data center. Both models are powered by high-speed NVMe flash and Quantum’s proven inline deduplication technology, which delivers data reduction ratios of up to 70:1. This level of efficiency is particularly valuable for organizations focused on ransomware prevention, DevOps environments with frequent backup cycles, and edge locations where space, power, and operational simplicity are at a premium.
A key advantage of the new DXi T-Series models is their ability to scale seamlessly as data volumes grow. Quantum’s flexible, software-based pay-as-you-grow licensing model allows customers to activate only the capacity they need at deployment, with the option to expand in 15TB or 30TB increments as requirements evolve. This approach eliminates the need for disruptive forklift upgrades or unplanned downtime while also providing predictable budgeting and investment protection.
Integration with Quantum’s broader data protection portfolio further enhances the value proposition of the DXi T-10-240 and T-10-480. These appliances can serve as high-speed landing zones for daily backups and virtual machine recovery, with built-in replication or tiering to a DXi 9200 hybrid system for petabyte-scale, on-premises storage. For long-term retention, backups can be vaulted to Quantum’s ActiveScale object storage or Scalar tape libraries, ensuring immutability, air-gapped protection, and cloud-scale durability—all managed within a unified Quantum ecosystem.
The DXi T-Series has earned significant industry recognition, including the 2025 GOVIES Government Security Award and a Gold Globee Technology Award for Data Protection, the highest honor in its category. These accolades underscore the platform’s leadership in secure, high-performance backup and recovery, especially in today’s data-driven and threat-prone IT landscape.
Sanam Mittal, general manager of DXi at Quantum, emphasized that customers consistently choose Quantum’s all-flash DXi appliances for their rapid recovery capabilities during cyber incidents. Mittal noted that the new DXi T-10-240 and T-10-480 models quadruple capacity within the same 1U footprint while maintaining affordability and flexibility through software-based activation.
