Today Data Dynamics Inc. announced the release of the latest version of its intelligence-based storage management solution, StorageX 7.7. Data Dynamics states that this release will expand its lead in software defined migration solutions. The update brings new abilities to scale as well as faster migration speeds due to the upgrade to a 64bit architecture.

Today Coho Data announced the release of the latest version of software that powers their arrays, DataStream 2.6. This latest release integrates with VMware Site Recovery Manger. This integration will bring users easy disaster recovery, failover, and failback.

Red Hat Inc. announced that its Gluster Storage is available in Microsoft Azure as a fully supported offering. Through Gluster, Azure users will have a scale-out, POSIX compatible, massively scalable, elastic file storage solution with a global namespace. In yet another October acquisition/integration announcement, Cisco has announced that it plans on acquiring ParStream. ParStream was part of the Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence start up program. The ParStream team will be integrated into Cisco’s Data and Analytics Group. Currently, the acquisition it expected to close by the second fiscal quarter of 2016

Today Ravello Systems announced the cyber security company, LightCyber, is the latest to use Ravello’s security sandboxing in the cloud. This sandboxing allows companies to run hacker simulations on life-like user environments, but inside a secure capsule in the cloud.
