International Data Corporation (IDC) ran its quarterly Worldwide Server Tracker for the third quarter of this year. Again we see the numbers trending up for server sales, this marking the fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit revenue growth. And once again, we see Dell make the top of the list.

The server market overall did well seeing a year over year market increase of 37.7% up to $23.4 billion this quarter. For the individual vendors, Dell EMC is still in the top spot with 17.5% revenue share, a slight slip from last quarter’s 18.8%. Dell shipped 556,000 units this quarter. HPE stayed in second with a slight slip as well from 16.6% down to 16.3%. HPE shipped 456,200 units this quarter. Inspur took the third spot surpassing both IBM and Lenovo.
