Nasuni Awarded A Patent For Cloud File Storage

Nasuni announced that it received yet another patent (Patent No. 10,713,119) titled “Method and system for interfacing to cloud storage.” This marks the 14th patent for Nasuni. The patent covers Nasuni’s enterprise storage-as-a-service system, which includes the following capabilities:

  • The management console enables enterprises to provision and manage the scalable UniFS file system across one or multiple clouds.
  • The platform thinly provisions and intelligently caches the most frequently used files either in a local appliance or a virtual appliance in a nearby cloud. As a result, it continuously ensures that the most recent versions of files are available to end-users with strong performance.

Marvell Launches New Switches and PHY Solutions

Marvell announced an integrated set of access, aggregation and core Ethernet switch and PHY solutions that they claim will intelligently enable secure and efficient data movement throughout enterprise networks. The portfolio will come with a complete line of GE, 2.5GE, 5GE, 10GE, 25GE, 100GE and 400GE platforms. Key benefits include:

  • TrackIQ drives rigorous visibility and actionable analytics by providing accurate line-rate real-time telemetry data about network flows, anomalies and device healthiness
  • NetIQ powers intelligent data processing at the network edge for auto-healing and auto-adaptation as well as feature engineering for AI applications and machine learning
  • SecureIQ delivers network-embedded trustworthiness and advanced security to protect hardware and network software from ever-evolving security threats. The switches integrate secure boot and an IEEE 802.1AE Media Access Control Security (MACsec) Engine to provide cryptography-based security for Ethernet traffic passing through all network-facing ports.
  • Performance – Facilitates transition to mGig connectivity with Wi-Fi 6-enabled access points and high-performance end devices. The portfolio provides the capacity across networks to meet increased workloads and data cloudification bandwidth demands – essential to assure network performance and continuity.

Dynatrace Reaches FedRAMP Moderate Impact Level

Dynatrace announced that it has reached Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Impact Level. This is big news for the company as it allows US Federal agencies to now adopt the technology. Of specific interest to federal agencies is the company’s AI-powered platform will give agencies full-stack observability into their cloud environments and enable them to automate manual processes saving time, money and resources as a result.

Aerospike 5.1 Announced

Aerospike announced version 5.1 that comes with several new features. They have also integrated with HashiCorp Vault to help secure, store and tightly control access to passwords, certificates, and encryption keys. Other benefits include:

  • Aerospike has long supported features such as encryption-at-rest, TLS for network links, LDAP authentication, and more. Prior to Aerospike 5.1, the configuration information for these features resided in files on the local filesystem. Keeping them in sync with enterprise-wide security policies is a labor-intensive support burden. Additionally, the files are potential targets for exploits, either to alter and gain unauthorized access, or to extract sensitive data such as passwords and private keys.
  • Aerospike 5.1 allows selected configuration files to be migrated from the local filesystem to HashiCorp Vault secrets. This reduces the attack surface, solves the distribution problem, and allows IAM policies to be defined and centrally administered independently of Aerospike deployments.
