Supermicro Announces New Solutions That Support Next-Gen Intel Processors and the NVIDIA Tesla M40 GPU Accelerator

Super Micro Computer has announced the availability of the industry’s widest range of GPU-enabled SuperServers, all of which are ready to support the recently unveiled NVIDIA Tesla M40 GPU Accelerator. Also announced by Supermicro is the release of their new Server Building Block Solutions that support the new Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 v5 family and Intel Xeon processor D-1500. Comprised of over 15 systems, 25 motherboards and 15 SuperChassis, the new family of servers, storage, MicroCloud and MicroBlade systems are designed for maximum density and performance per watt in the most demanding Enterprise, Data Center, Cloud and Embedded applications.

The Supermicro 1U 4x GPU (SYS-1028GQ-TR/-TRT), 2U 6x GPU (SYS-2028GR-TR/-TRH/-TRHT), 4U 8x GPU (SYS-4028GR-TR/-TRT), 4U/Tower 4x GPU (SYS-7048GR-TR) and 7U 20x GPU SuperBlade (SBI-7128RG-X/-F/-F2) systems offer businesses extensive configuration flexibility and best-of-class GPU density. In addition, the Supermicro’s GPU leverages an optimized cooling architecture in the 1U 4x GPU SYS-1028GQ-TR/-TRT, which allows the NVIDIA Tesla M40 accelerators to operate at a quoted sustained 1000W delivering up to 28 Teraflops of single precision performance for deep learning training applications.
