Today Zadara Storage announced new features to its Virtual Private Storage Array (VPSA) solution. The new features include the new Docker-based container services, Zadara Container Services (ZCS), backup to Amazon S3, and two new storage hardware options. According to Zadara, these new features will give users most advanced Enterprise Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) capabilities available on the market.

ZCS leverages the modular VPSA architecture to run applications within the storage itself, rather than running code in compute servers. Databases need high-availability Docker container environment and high-performance persistent storage and Zadara’s VPSA is the only solution to run stateful applications. When using ZCS, users can expect to see higher performance, lower latency, reduced traffic between server and storage, and greater overall efficiency.

Zadara is also announcing an incremental backup from VPSA to Amazon S3, B2S3. This backup will be automatic, continuous, and snapshot-based. This gives customers lots of flexibility. Any data backed up using B2S3 can be restored to any storage medium from any vendor, including Amazon Elastic Block Store.

And finally, Zadara is offering two new storage hardware options for its VSPA solutions. Zadara is offering a 800GB SSD and a 6TB HDD for customers looking for the best price to capacity benefits. Zadara states that these new drives and their larger capacities will lower cost while providing greater flexibility.

Availability

All of Zadara new features are expected to be available in the next 30 days.
