Dell has unveiled its most advanced portfolio of PowerEdge servers to date, which was designed to help customers address and optimize the evolving spectrum of application and workload requirements. The 13th generation of Dell PowerEdge servers are also built to optimize price performance for the widest range of web, enterprise, and hyper scale applications, and features advancements in storage, processing and memory technology coupled with systems management capabilities.  The new Dell PowerEdge portfolio offers customers a choice in how they tackle industry trends including cloud computing, mobility, big data, and software-defined.

The 13th generation of Dell PowerEdge servers are also built to optimize price performance for the widest range of web, enterprise, and hyper scale applications, and features advancements in storage, processing and memory technology coupled with systems management capabilities.  The new Dell PowerEdge portfolio offers customers a choice in how they tackle industry trends including cloud computing, mobility, big data, and software-defined.

PowerEdge R730xd

The PowerEdge R730xd is designed with a focus on configurability to meet the needs of many different workloads with its latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family, 24 DIMMs of high-performance DDR4 memory, and a broad range of local storage options.

The PowerEdge R730xd allows users to accelerate application performance with the latest technologies and dynamic local storage. Users will also be able to easily scale their device with its front-accessible design by using drives that range from low-cost SATA hard drives to 1.8” flash, as well as low-latency PowerEdge Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSDs. The R730xd can be configured under a hybrid storage model in order to tailor to workload needs and implement tiered storage efficiencies. In addition, users can combine its 24-drive capacity with a dual-PERC capability to drive storage performance to leverage Dell’s new caching technologies to boost application performance.

PowerEdge R730

The PowerEdge R730 delivers the performance to address a wide range of demanding workloads for midsized and large enterprises, including data warehouses, e-commerce, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), databases and high-performance computing HPC as a data node. The R730 provides up to 48TB of rapidly accessed storage for databases, business intelligence and HPC applications when configured with 3.5” drives.

With the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family and DDR4 memory, users will be able to achieve peak compute performance across a variety workloads as well as the ability to boost data access for applications by leveraging its 16 x 12Gbps SAS drives and high-performance dual RAID. In addition, its advanced accelerators and GPUs are able to maximize performance in HPC, VDI, and imaging environments.

The PowerEdge T630 is also equipped with latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family and has huge internal storage capacity, extensive configuration flexibility and the most powerful GPU in the PowerEdge server portfolio. The PowerEdge T630 helps to drive business success for small- to medium-sized businesses, as well as large enterprise remote and branch offices with its collaboration and productivity applications (mail and messaging, file and print, web serving, video serving) to Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) in retail environments and its ability to record retention and management in healthcare and education.

The PowerEdge T630 also features up to 768GB of DDR4 memory and can accelerate data performance and throughput with its Express Flash PCIe SSDs, 12Gbps SAS and PCIe 3.0 I/O and storage tiering as well as faster data analytics with support for up to four optional GPUs.

PowerEdge M630

The PowerEdge M630 blade server is designed for use with the PowerEdge M1000e blade enclosure and the PowerEdge VRTX converged infrastructure, offering scalability in environments ranging from IT as a service and private clouds to remote and branch offices. Its Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family offers the processing cycles and threads to help increase virtualization performance, which enables the M630 to deliver more, larger, and higher performing virtual machines aided by more cores and up to 15% greater memory bandwidth.

The PowerEdge M630 also features 24 DDR4 DIMM slots and up to four 1.8” SSDs, which is twice the number of flash drives per server than previous generations. This makes the M630 ideal for workloads such as high-performance computing (HPC).

PowerEdge R630

The PowerEdge R630 server is versatile and highly configurable for a wide range of solutions with 24 DIMMs of high-performance DDR4 memory and a broad range of local storage options.

The R630 can be configured as a 24 bay all-flash server. Users can also combine the density, scalability and performance of 24 1.8” SSDs with dual-PERC capability for a solution that improves performance by storing an entire database. In addition, when combined with the SanDisk DAS Cache solution, the R630 can increase OLTP transactions and concurrent usage for latency-sensitive applications, including e-commerce or financial trading.

Dell has also released new direct-attached storage offerings specifically developed for the new PowerEdge servers, the Dell Storage MD1400 and MD1420. They provide an affordable storage expansion, double the bandwidth, have improved performance compared to the previous generation, data security with self-encrypting-drives (SEDs), and seamless data management between the server and storage enclosure.
