Today, Lenovo unveiled the Lenovo ThinkAgile MX1021 and the ThinkSystem DM7100 (pictured below). The ThinkAgile MX1021 is a Microsoft-based edge appliance. ThinkSystem DM710 appliances are storage solutions. Lenovo was founded in 1984 is well known for its endpoint solutions as well as their infrastructure solutions like ThinkSystem servers and the ThinkAgile software-defined portfolio.

Today, Lenovo unveiled the Lenovo ThinkAgile MX1021 and the ThinkSystem DM7100 (pictured below). The ThinkAgile MX1021 is a Microsoft-based edge appliance. Lenovo ThinkSystem MX1021

The Lenovo ThinkAgile MX1021 is a Microsoft Azure Stack hyper-converged appliance aimed at edge-computing uses cases. It joins Lenovo’s existing lineup of ThingAgile MX appliances, all of which have previously used 1 or 2 Intel Xeon Processors, ranging in speed from 2 to 3.5GHz. The MX1021 is available today through Lenovo’s pay-for-what-you-use data center, Lenovo TruScale.

The ThinkSystem DM7100 series includes both all-flash memory array and hybrid memory arrays. Like the MX1021, which we discussed above, this series of appliances are compatible with Microsoft’s Azure stack. The DM7100 models come with integrated Azure cloud tiering, and data reduction technologies that Lenovo claims provide an average of 3:1 space savings. The DM7100F all-flash model’s 4U form factor gives it plenty of space for up to 88PB of storage drives.
