Supermicro Computer demonstreert zijn nieuwe 2U Simply Double SuperStorage-opslagarchitectuur op CeBIT 2016, die dubbele dichtheid en capaciteit biedt in een 2U-vormfactor. Om dit te bereiken, ontwierp Supermicro de nieuwe oplossingen met een tweede set gemakkelijk toegankelijke, externe hot-swap drive bays, opgesteld in een gepatenteerde Riser Bay. Supermicro geeft aan dat dit zorgt voor maximale serverprestaties met ondersteuning voor dubbele Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 en toekomstige processors. Het biedt ook tot 1.5 TB aan DDR4-2133MHz ECC-geheugen, evenals flexibele SIOM-netwerkopties die 1G/10G/25G/40G tot 2x 100G-poorten voor InfiniBand/Intel Omni-Path-architectuur en Ethernet-connectiviteit ondersteunen.
