Today VMware announced a new service built on the foundation of the Istio Service Mesh, Vmware NSX Service Mesh. VMware is currently targetting a beta release early 2019 that will support only VMware Cloud PKS; with support for additional platforms rolling out later.

Today SonicWall announced updates targeted at their enterprise customers. The new updates include Zero-Touch Deployment and Secure SD-WAN (software-defined WAN) designed for distributed enterprises and organizations with hybrid cloud environments. The company also announced enhancements to the Capture Security Center as well as Hyper-V, Azure and AWS support for its virtual firewall series.

Netgear has released an Insight VPN Router (BR500). They are targeting this router and bundled VPN annual subscription at small and medium-sized businesses. The router is designed to interconnect up to 3 offices as if they were connected locally, regardless of their geographical location.

Today NETGEAR Inc. announced that it was expanding its Insight Cloud Managed Family with two new switches. Both of the new switches add more capacity for growing businesses by being 52-ports. The company also updated its Insight cloud management system with better functionality and PoE controls.

Cisco Systems Inc. reported its third quarter earnings for its fiscal 2018 year for the period ended April 28, 2018. Overall the numbers were good, especially compared to last quarter’s. After hours trading saw a sharp drop in the stock before a rebound. 

Today at Dell Technologies World 2018, VMware Inc. announced what it is referring to, and hopes to be, the future of networking the Virtual Cloud Network. The Virtual Cloud Network takes VMware's NSX networking and security portfolio and expands it to encompass all ends of the software-defined network across a business' fabric.

Today Cisco announced that it was expanding its MDS Storage Networking Portfolio with the introduction of two new 32G MDS FC-NVMe switches, updates to the MDS Diagnostics Suite, and simplified SAN management through new DCNM 11.0 features. These new solutions are aimed at increasing storage network performance, visibility, and reducing costs.
