Today Seagate Technologies announced it was further expanding its Seagate Nytro SSD portfolio. The line now includes the Nytro 3032 SAS SSD and Nytro 1360 SATA SSD products. The new drives are aimed at a wide range of enterprise applications.

The Seagate Nytro SSD line goes back to at least 2015. The company has been expanding the portfolio with various SATA, SAS, and NVMe additions over the years. This includes the Seagate Nytro 3530 that we review a couple years back. As per usual, as enterprises move forward, they look for refreshes of newer, often times faster, and better endurance SSDs. Enter the new Nytro 3032 SAS and Nytro 1360 SATA SSDs.

Seagate Nytro SSD 3032

According to Seagate the new Nytro 3032 SAS is said to be high capacity (up to 15TB), high performance (up to 2.2GB/s levering the 12Gb/s interface), and reliable (up to 10 DWPD). The drive is dual ported and aimed at write-intensive, mixed, and read-intensive enterprise workloads. The Nytro 3032 SAS comes in a 2.5” 15mm form factor.

Seagate Nytro SSD 1360

On the SATA side of things, the Seagate Nytro 1360 represents a cost-effective solution that leverages 96-layer BiCS4 NAND and is aimed at read-intensive applications. Leveraging the SATA 6Gb/s interface gives the drive performance up to 96k IOPS random read and 65k IOPS random writes. The drive does act as a nice drop in replacement and comes in capacities up to 3.84TB.

Availability

The Seagate Nytro 3032 SAS is available now and the Seagate Nytro 1360 is expected to be available on July 28, 2020.
