Cigent Software Full Drive Encryption übertrifft Intel vPro Power- und CPU-Ziele und erhält den Status einer zertifizierten App.

Cigent Software Full Drive Encryption and its command line interface have received Intel vPro Certified App status, Intel’s validation that a background application meets its power and performance targets on vPro business PCs. Cigent’s software is a CSfC-listed encryption component used in NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified data-at-rest architectures, so the certification speaks to a specific buyer: defense and government IT teams running encrypted laptops and field systems where battery life and processor headroom are part of the mission.

Hardware-Validated Efficiency and CSfC Data-at-Rest Architecture

Intel’s program evaluates software that runs continuously in the background, such as security, telemetry, and observability agents, for CPU utilization, power efficiency, coordination of background threads, use of the hybrid core architecture, and the number of CPU interruptions it generates. Intel says Cigent’s software met or exceeded those targets in its testing with minimal impact on device performance and battery life, though neither company has published the measured figures. Cigent joins a certified list that includes CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Citrix Workspace, and Absolute Secure Endpoint.

Cigent Software Full Drive Encryption is the independent inner encryption layer in the NSA CSfC Data at Rest Capability Package v5.1.0 architecture. It runs once the outer hardware encryption layer has authenticated, with separate credentials and key management and optional smart card authentication that requires both the card and its PIN. Cigent uses AES-256 and positions the software for National Security Systems spanning endpoints, servers, tactical edge systems, vehicles, and autonomous platforms, with Dell, Getac, and Panasonic PCs, mobile workstations, and servers among the supported hardware.

“For defense teams operating mobile platforms in the field, every hour of battery life counts, and so does every ounce of performance. Earning Intel vPro Certified App status for Cigent Software Full Drive Encryption and CLI reflects our commitment to minimizing our software’s power use and processor demands. That efficiency supports CSfC Data-at-Rest deployments on the Intel vPro devices those teams depend on,” said Juan Mojica, Chief Technology Officer at Cigent.

“Cigent’s Intel vPro Certified App status reflects a critical priority on efficiency and optimization that can help customers confidently deploy security technologies across their PC fleets,” said Dennis Luo, Senior Director and General Manager, Worldwide AI PC Developer Relations at Intel.

Fleet Automation and Management via CLI

The CLI covers deployment and management for organizations running the software at scale, and the certification applies to it as well as to the encryption software. Cigent says the encryption can be rolled out across large fleets with standard enterprise software-distribution tools, using MSI installation flags to preconfigure passwords, define authorized users, and enable self-enrollment without a separate management console. Neither company has published the test configurations, the vPro generations covered, or the CPU and power figures behind the certification, and Cigent has not tied pricing or availability changes to it.
