StorONE has announced the All-Flash Array.next (AFAn), which uses Intel Optane SSD as a storage tier, delivering solutions for enterprise storage. The SSD technology, which is used as a storage tier, not as a cache, integrates Intel QLC 3D NAND SSDs for cost-effective, high capacity, moving data between the two storage tiers as it ages.

Western Digital OpenFlex Data24 Announced

Today, Western Digital (WD) announced plans to begin shipping its Western Digital OpenFlex Data24 NVMe-oF (NVMe over Fabrics) Storage Platform in the fall. WD’s OpenFlex Data24 device will ship with 24 NVMe SSDs inside.  We covered WD’s OpenFlex architecture when they announced it two years ago.  Western Digital was founded 50 years ago as General Digital.

The company states that the new version enables cloud-native persistent storage integration for Kubernetes with unprecedented scaling and availability via clustering. Lightbits goes on to say that containerized applications can enjoy reliable disaggregated storage that performs like local flash.

Well, I call them a startup since they are only two years old, but LinkedIn already lists fifty-two individuals who report the company as their employer.
