Smartbird dodaje stojaki Supermicro DCBBS do zarządzanych klastrów AI dla pojedynczego najemcy, dwa tygodnie po konferencji WEKA

AI  ◇  Enterprise

Smartbird, the managed AI infrastructure company that launched in June and trades on Nasdaq as BIRD, has added Supermicro to its partner network. The two will deliver dedicated, single-tenant AI clusters built from Supermicro’s Data Center Building Block Solutions and rack-scale systems, with Smartbird handling design, procurement, integration, deployment, and day-to-day operations as the single accountable party. Customers can run the clusters on premises or in colocation, and the target workloads run from large-scale inference and model training through fine-tuning, agentic AI, and HPC.

Supermicro brings the hardware side: DCBBS, its application-optimized server platforms across GPU-accelerated and other processor types, and rack-scale expertise that spans compute, storage, networking, power, and cooling. Smartbird designs each cluster to the customer’s processor choice, capacity, performance targets, and deployment requirements, then carries the racks through integration and into ongoing operations. The appeal of the pairing is that one provider is responsible for the whole stack from procurement to operations, which cuts the number of vendors and handoffs an enterprise has to manage for its first AI cluster.

DCBBS is Supermicro’s packaged approach to building AI data centers from pre-engineered compute, storage, networking, power, and cooling blocks, delivered as complete racks and scalable units. Supermicro’s network of original design manufacturers and component suppliers comes with it, which gives a five-month-old company a supply chain it did not have to build.

Enterprise AI Deployments

Training, fine-tuning, and inference have different compute and capacity requirements, and Smartbird says it will tailor cluster architectures to each. Dedicated, single-tenant clusters give customers isolation and operational control, and the on-premises and colocation options let an organization keep data where its security and sovereignty rules require. Smartbird calls the service sovereign-by-design. The announcement names no compliance certifications and makes no claim that a given configuration satisfies a specific regulatory obligation.

Dr. Nadia Carlsten, president and CEO of Smartbird, said, “The challenge for enterprises isn’t simply acquiring compute,” and described the need as complete AI infrastructure tailored to each customer’s workloads.

Ray Pang, senior vice president of Technology Enablement at Supermicro, said, “Enterprises need secure, compliant AI infrastructure,” and pointed to the combination of DCBBS and Supermicro’s rack-scale expertise with Smartbird’s managed model.

Partner Network and Availability

Supermicro is the second named partner in a month for Smartbird, which added WEKA NeuralMesh to its dedicated clusters in October. Neither company has provided cluster configurations, GPU platforms, or availability dates, and the announcement names no customers or regions yet.
