At the tail end of the GTC 2018, DataDirect Networks (DDN) announced its new EXAScaler DGX Solution. The new all-flash array is quoted at being able to demonstrating whopping 33GB/s of throughput. DDN was demonstrating this new solution at their booth #609.

VMware announced updates for its vRealize cloud management platform. These updates all center around making it easier on customers when they implement, use, and manage hybrid cloud environments. Several of the updates are “self-driving” or automated to help optimize performance and capacity in hybrid cloud environments as well as boost productivity.

Today VMware announced that it has acquired E8 Security along with the company’s team. VMware plans to add E8 Security to Workspace ONE to help break down management and security silos. This announcement comes on the heels of VMware adding intelligence-driven innovations to its Workspace ONE last week.

Oracle announced the general availability of the Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud. This is the first service available based on the company’s Autonomous Database. The Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud is stated to deliver industry-leading performance, security, and availability by leveraging machine learning, eliminating human intervention.

This week Backblaze introduced its rapid ingest service, Backblaze B2 Fireball. The Fireball allows customers to easily upload 70TB of data onto a device and ship it to be uploaded to the cloud. This announcement comes on the heels of Backblaze lowering their download costs of data to $0.01/GB.

Today Druva Inc. announced the general availability of its Druva Cloud Platform. The company is also making updates around the new platform for unified data protection, management, and intelligence capabilities. The Cloud Platform will now also extend its services across SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service).
