VDP leverages Avamar technology including variable-length deduplication, full support of Changed Block Tracking, and single-step restore.

Barracuda Networks has launched Backup 5.0 featuring LiveBoot for VMware. LiveBoot allows administrators to boot a server live from Barracuda Backup’s deduplicated storage server if primary storage for their VMware environment fails. LiveBoot also serves as a platform to test and sandbox updates, upgrades, and other server changes.
