QNAP TR-004 RAID Expansion Enclosure Now Available

QNAP has announced the availability of the TR-004, a 4-bay hardware RAID storage expansion unit that supports PCs or NAS solutions with USB 3.0 Type-C connectivity. It can be used to increase the available storage of a NAS (or used as an external storage device attached to the NAS) or as a hardware-based RAID storage solution for PCs. The TR-004 supports individual, JBOD and RAID 0/1/5/10 storage configurations.

With the new QNAP expansion unit, users can set RAID parameters and create a storage pool via the Storage and Snapshots QTS app. It also enables file sharing and exchange on PCs, and supports the exFAT file system. Those who use the TR-004 as an expansion unit for their PCs can leverage the QNAP External RAID Manager utility, allowing them to easily view disk health, change RAID configurations, check logs, and update its firmware.

The TR-004A is equipped with a DIP switch on the back panel, which changes the disk configuration of the device. Other features include status indicators, a one touch copy button and an eject button.
