This new turnkey solution contains all of the software and hardware that one would need to deploy their VDI in a single package. The company goes on to state that customers will be able to custom configure a VMware Horizon 7.0 VDI solution in minutes.

VDI has come a long way in recent years. Its benefits are truly starting to outweigh any concerns of yesteryear. Organizations are able to deploy and manage virtual desktops from a centralized location, potentially saving time and money. AberVDI takes this to another level by increasing the ease of deploying of VDI environment that fits customer needs through its online configurator. AberVDI is available as either a standard or HBA redundant configuration.

AberVDI leverages the company’s Stirling 287 as well as VMware ESXi 6.5 and FT Ready server. The Stirling 287 is a 2U flagship server that leverages dual Intel Xeon E5-2600v4 CPUs and has 7 PCIe expansion slots that allow AICs such as GbE or 10GbE network interface controllers and 16Gb Fibre Channel adapters for storage expansion. The combination of the hardware and VMware leads to a simplifications of VM provisioning, resource allocation, load balancing and migration all the while maintaining higher system utilization, closer alignment of IT resources with business goals and priorities, and more streamlined, simplified and automated administration of larger infrastructure installations and systems.

From a storage standpoint, AberVDI leverages Aberdeen XDAS GX22m, its 2U 24-bay SAS storage unit. The GX22m leverages four 16G fibre channel host ports on each controller and a new SAS3.0 12G hard drive backplane. It also comes with expansion units allowing for over 100 more drives to be added when needed.

The AberVDI Kit Features:
