Anobit Second Generation Genesis SSDs Released

Anobit announced its second-generation enterprise SSD’s today. The new drives use MLC instead of SLC NAND chips, but Anobit claims that with its MSP, or Memory Signal Processing, technology that they can achieve 50,000 erase/write cycles. The 2.5” 6Gb/s SATA 3 and SAS 2.0 drives have a 510MB/s read and write speed, and will be offered in 100GB, 200GB, and 400GB sizes today, with 800GB and larger drives planned for the future.

Pricing information is available from Anobit upon customer request, and is currently sampling the drive to OEM’s. Anobit is betting that the lower price of MLC memory makes these drives that much more appealing to enterprise customers while still providing a similar level of reliability and performance.
