Today Arcserve LLC announced that it is launching a new solution that is a cost-effective service for off-site data protection, Arcserve Cloud. The new Arcserve Cloud will be fully integrated with Arcserve’s Unified Data Protection (UDP) platform. Now small to medium businesses as well as mid-sized organizations can ensure disaster recovery and business continuity. Arcserve Cloud also adds an option for Arcserve Managed Services Providers to extend their data protection solution portfolio.

With the addition of Arcserve Cloud to Arcserve UDP, users now have data protection through their software, appliance, and through the cloud. Through a single pane of glass, users can manage all their data protection needs including global deduplication, encryption, compression, and WAN-optimized replication. Data is also protected with Arcserve Unified Data Protection Recovery Point Server replication technologies that encrypt data at the source, in flight and in the cloud, using 256-bit AES encryption.

Capabilities include:

  • Disaster Recovery as a Service: The ability to store valuable business data in a secure, offsite cloud storage for disaster recovery in addition to leveraging Remote Virtual Standby technology for emergency application failover and failback, without the cost and maintenance of dedicated hardware, racking, power, and IT resources.
  • Offsite Data Retention: Cloud storage for long-term data storage instead of maintaining local magnetic media or leveraging a third-party to meet compliance requirements.
  • Disaster Recovery Testing: The ability to easily test application failover at any time without expensive infrastructure, thereby ensuring data recovery plan efficiency and accuracy.

Customers that wish to accelerate their deployment of Arcserve Cloud service can copy their data to portable USB drives and mail them to Arcserve through a Jumpstart Courier Service.

Arcserve Managed Services Providers can leverage Arcserve Cloud service to extend their service portfolio and offer DRaaS.

Availability

Arcserve Cloud will first be released as a service extension of Arcserve UDP appliance portfolio.
