Today Cloudian announced HyperStore Xtreme their newest private cloud storage offering. Cloudian was founded in 2011 and primarily provides file and object storage software. This has been a productive month for Cloudian, just last week, we covered the announcement of their object storage solution for VMware Cloud.
What is Cloudian HyperStore Xtreme?
Cloudian HyperStore Xtreme builds on its existing HyperStore software by combining the company's fully S3-compatible object storage software with Seagate's newest storage systems. The new units offer over 1.5 PB in a single 4U enclosure, almost twice that provided by the largest HyperStore 400 which has a raw storage of up to 840TB. Like their existing rack units, the new HyperStore Xtreme units are modular and can scale up to exabytes of storage sharing a single, easy to manage, namespace. The individual units can even be deployed at multiple locations while still presenting all storage as a single pool.
