Clouds, even private ones, aren’t a one-size-fits-all type of product. While there are lots of choices, at least 100s, perhaps more, some customers still like to have some control over creating their clouds and tailor them specifically for their needs. Dell is answering the call with the DTCP offering flexibility and good economics.

On the good economics side. As stated, DTCP will be available for as little as $14 per instance per month. This will be offered with pre-defined instance blocks, time-to-value of 14 days, and self-service experience via the Cloud Console, according to Dell. Customers can easily scale up if need be in the future as their needs grow.

Another feature making it attractive to customers is the ability to use their own rack. DTCP will be offered with pre-built integrated racks, but customers can use the gear of their choosing or their existing gear, assuming it’s compatible.

The DTCP is instances-based. Customers can order instances off of Cloud Console and deploy them in as little as 14 days or scale-up in as little as 5 days. Instances are sold in quantities of 25, 50, 100, 200, and 500, and they can be run together or mixed and matched depending on customer needs.

Availability

The DTCP is initially available to customers based in the US, UK, France, and Germany.
