Dell and Red Hat have jointly unveiled the APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift, an application delivery platform tailored for modern cloud-native operations. As organizations worldwide embrace cloud-native strategies to expedite AI integration and enhance application deployment, Gartner predicts that over 95 percent of global organizations will be running containerized applications in production by 2028. There is a growing need for a modern infrastructure platform that simplifies deployment and management to meet these evolving demands.

APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift is a significant milestone in this direction. Co-engineered with Red Hat and powered by 4th-generation Intel processors, this platform is purpose-built for Red Hat OpenShift, the industry’s leading hybrid cloud application platform fueled by Kubernetes. It transforms how organizations deploy, manage, and operate containers and virtual machines on their on-premises infrastructure.

Simplifying Multicloud Operations

Flexibility, agility, and purpose are paramount for application development and deployment. Collaborating with Red Hat, a leader in container management according to the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant, Dell is thrilled to introduce the industry’s first integrated application delivery platform for Red Hat OpenShift.

The APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift reshapes the landscape of OpenShift operation. It simplifies multicloud operations, accelerates application deployment, and optimizes workload placement. In a multicloud environment, customers demand the performance, reliability, and security of on-premises infrastructure while retaining the agility and flexibility of public cloud. The platform eliminates the complexities associated with deploying and managing Kubernetes, offering a turnkey, integrated bare-metal solution. Its Foundation Software automates Red Hat OpenShift deployment, slashing deployment time by 90 percent.

Leveraging PowerEdge Servers

The APEX Cloud Platform streamlines application delivery by providing high-performance infrastructure, including Intel AMX acceleration and modern container orchestration. Advanced DevOps automation tools empower IT teams, freeing them from infrastructure management hassles. The platform leverages next-generation PowerEdge servers and Dell’s linearly scalable software-defined storage based on PowerFlex technology, ensuring adherence to stringent enterprise SLAs across a wide range of workloads.

Red Hat OpenShift, known for its tested and trusted services, simplifies application development, modernization, deployment, and management. It offers a consistent experience across public cloud, on-premises, hybrid cloud, and edge architecture. Red Hat OpenShift supports containers and virtual machines simultaneously, easing the transition between the two. Automation tools, including open APIs and Dell’s Container Storage Modules, streamline DevOps processes and enhance IT efficiency.

Portability of applications and datasets in a multicloud environment is crucial. The APEX Cloud Platform facilitates seamless movement of applications and datasets across multicloud environments. Its software-defined storage aligns with Dell’s public cloud storage offerings, ensuring compatibility between on-premises and public cloud storage. Security is paramount, and Dell’s close engineering collaboration with Red Hat ensures rapid access to new patches, enhancing security and mitigating vulnerabilities.

Dell Validated Design for Red Hat OpenShift AI on APEX Cloud Platform

In a refined approach to AI differentiation, organizations across the board have embraced the AI-driven future to create more value for their customers, employees, and shareholders. AI presents immense potential comes with considerable complexity, especially as data scientists turn to multicloud solutions to optimize application and data portability. Notably, 82 percent of IT decision-makers prefer an on-premises or hybrid model when it comes to Generative AI (GenAI). This underscores the importance of a multicloud architecture that maximizes data value while keeping complexity in check.

Today, a new Dell Validated Design for Red Hat OpenShift AI on APEX Cloud Platform is being announced. This design offers organizations a simplified guide for deploying a digital assistant using a Large Language Model (LLM) and the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) framework. This integrated multicloud solution demonstrates how RAG can be securely used with your data on-premises.

APEX Cloud Platform and Red Hat OpenShift AI empower data scientists with much-needed agility, flexibility, portability, and scalability for designing, building, and deploying AI-enabled applications at scale. Alongside the right AI application platform, many organizations will require the right partner to fully harness the potential of AI applications for their businesses.

Data Preparation Services

Dell Services plays a crucial role in helping customers advance their businesses.
