EK is adding to their Fluid Works Compute Series with a new rackmount liquid-cooled GPU server, the X7000-RM. This new liquid-cooled server is purpose-built for high-compute density applications including machine learning, artificial intelligence, rendering farms, and scientific compute simulations.

EK claims that it is capable of producing 175% more GPU computational power than other competing air-cooled servers of similar size and that 100% of its performance output will be maintained no matter the type of workload or for how long.

Another unique aspect of the X7000-RM is that all CPUs and GPUs feature a custom-designed rack-compatible water block and is equipped with rear-facing G1/4” ports for easier connectivity. They also have additional screw holes for mounting to keep the GPUs securely in place.

EK X7000-RM front

When designing the self-contained liquid cooling system, EK certainly put a focus on easy servicing. By simply removing a few screws from the side panel, users can access the entire subassembly (like fans, radiators, manifold, and pumps), which can easily be detached and replaced. Moreover, when a single component fails, the CPC QDCs (quick disconnect couplings) allow for quick replacement without having to drain or refill the liquid cooling loop.

EK indicates that the triple 360mm radiator inside the X7000-RM is effective even during higher ambient temperature conditions while being noticeably quieter than standard air-cooled servers. The entire water-cooling loop is managed by an AI-enhanced control system, which allows for an optimal balance of cooling and noise generation and will remotely notify users of any issues or failures.

EK Fluid Works X7000-RM is also designed to keep all critical components (e.g., AMD EPYC 64 core CPU and NVIDIA A100 GPUs) at 30°C lower in operating temperatures compared to other standard air-cooled solutions.

Availability and Pricing

Backed by a 3-year parts and labor warranty, the EK Fluid Works Compute Series X7000-RM is available now for purchase starting at $18,524 (with custom builds) through the company website.
