G-Technology Announces Its New G-DRIVE USB-C

Today Western Digital Corporation (WDC) announced that it was expanding its G-DRIVE portfolio (under the G-Technology brand) to now include a USB-C version of the device. Available in up to 10TB of capacity, the G-DRIVE USB-C is designed with creative enthusiasts in mind. The USB-C interface works well with next-generation Mac and PC computers while simultaneously charging compatible USB-C devices.


Today Western Digital Corporation (WDC) announced that it was expanding its G-DRIVE portfolio (under the G-Technology brand) to now include a USB-C version of the device. Available in up to 10TB of capacity, the G-DRIVE USB-C is designed with creative enthusiasts in mind. The USB-C interface works well with next-generation Mac and PC computers while simultaneously charging compatible USB-C devices.

Enthusiasts and creative professionals that work with and store HD videos, photos, music, and backups, have high capacity needs. The G-DRIVE USB-C can provide up to 10TB of capacity in a G-Technology stylish extruded aluminum enclosure. The USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface with USB-C connector (a USB-A connector is also included) can provide up to 195MB/s in transfer speeds. The G-DRIVE USB-C can provide up to 45 Watts of charging capability, enabling users of the latest MacBook or MacBook Pro to charge their notebook without a separate charger.

The G-DRIVE USB-C is expected to be available this quarter, comes with a 3-year warranty, and has a MRSP of $449.95, $349.95, and $199.95 for the 10TB, 8TB and 4TB capacities respectively.
