Hitachi Data Systems is announcing significant enhancements to its Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM) all flash system, Hitachi Unified Storage and Hitachi NAS Platform, and Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP). These improved solutions are designed to keep pace with continued data growth by offering double the performance of previous generation models while still driving down the TCO by up to 30% compared to competing solutions. With the three solutions designed for enterprise cloud environments, organizations are able to free up valuable resources and accelerate their strategic insight.

The 3-tiered HDS solution complements and builds on existing hardware while providing a single virtualization platform for all data to support cloud and enable big data. It also increases overall efficiency as auto provisioning frees up resources for more critical applications and personnel can work through virtualization.

The HUS VM all-flash system is capable of providing up to 1M IOPS, while doubling storage efficiency of SSDs and reducing cost per I/O by up to 60%. HUS VM provides a solid ROI aided by Hitachi Dynamic Tiering which can improve performance and lengthen the life of storage. Hitachi Unified Storage and Hitachi NAS Platform implement deduplication to reduce required storage capacities by up to 90% without effecting performance. It also combines block and file storage by applying new file modules to support bit data and consolidate several NAS. This drives down the TCO by up to 30% in the first year alone. Rounding out the three tiers, Hitachi UCP can aid organizations in deploying a new converged infrastructure in less than a week, and with simplified management and utilization, TCO is reduced by up to 30% over four years. UCP also includes Hitachi UCP Pro for VMware vSphere, UCP Select for Microsoft Private Cloud, and UCP Select for Oracle Database Real Application Cluster.
