Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced a collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, on August 20th. According to the announcement, HPE, Alibaba Cloud, and Intel are collaborating to certify Apsara Stack cloud services on HPE platforms; including HPE ProLiant Gen10.

Aspara stack is an extension of Alibaba Cloud's public cloud architecture. It is a cloud services platform that is intended to be compatible with on-premise data centers and should provide support for data sovereignty and compliance requirements. Alibaba Cloud is planning to include more than 60 of its services, including artificial intelligence, elastic GPU computing, and business intelligence, in this deal.

HPE is aiming to provide deployments ranging in size from 20 to 10,000 servers. In addition to certifying its servers, HPE is also planning on certifying other platform elements like their FlexFabric networking switches.

Availability

HPE is limiting their release to the Asia Pacific region, excluding China. They are targeting the end of this year, 2018.
