Today Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) introduced a new compute platform that is managed and updated through the cloud, the HPE ProLiant Easy Connect Managed Hybrid solution. This new compute platform is aimed at small to medium businesses (SMBs), educational institutions, and branch offices. The solution is subscription-based and according to HPE provides customers with an on-premise server that delivers security, performance and control with the flexibility of the cloud. HPE is also introducing a new HPE ProLiant ML10 Gen9 server, the ML10.

The HPE ProLiant Easy Connect Managed Hybrid solution is the first offering in HPE’s new Easy Connect portfolio. The HPE Easy Connect portfolio is designed around making IT easier for small businesses to deploy and manage. Using virtualization and cloud management software from Zynstra, the HPE ProLiant Easy Connect Managed Hybrid solution tightly integrates compute, storage, and networking. HPE states that the solution installs in minutes, allows organizations to choose either on-premise or in the cloud for storing data and workloads, and it comes with preintegrated options with cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure that are managed remotely. The solutions cuts down the burden for on-site IT through virtualization and cloud management software, automated maintenance, patches and upgrades. The new portfolio also includes break/fix services enabling SMBs to take advantage of subscription models versus paying upfront costs.

Featuring the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 processor, HPE is also introducing the HPE ProLiant ML10 Gen9 server. This new server is designed to be affordable (starting at only $300), quiet, and compact; it is ideal for small businesses. The ML10 brings ProLiant options to SMBs.
