Iomega Releases New StorCenter PX NAS Series with up to 18TB of Storage

Today Iomega announced their new StorCenter PX series of network storage products, including high-performance desktop and rackmount NAS units. Aimed at the small to medium sized business and enterprise markets, the models offer up to 18TB of storage at the high-end. These new servers include Iomega Personal Cloud technology as well, allowing users to share and backup data from anywhere.


Today Iomega announced their new StorCenter PX series of network storage products, including high-performance desktop and rackmount NAS units. Aimed at the small to medium sized business and enterprise markets, the models offer up to 18TB of storage at the high-end. These new servers include Iomega Personal Cloud technology as well, allowing users to share and backup data from anywhere.

The new models released today include the desktop StorCenter px4-300d and px6300d (four and six bay models) as well as the rackmount StorCenter px4-300r. Both models support 2.5 and 3.5-inch drives, including standard hard drives and SSDs. Pricing on models without hard drives included is $799 for the px4-300d, $1,199 for the px6-300d, and $2,299 for the px4-300r. Each model is also offered full populated with drives, with the six-bay px6-300d equipped with six 3TB drives costing $3,999.

Features of the new StorCenter PX models include the following:

  • High performance through optional solid state drives, dual Core Intel processor, 2GB memory and dual GbE NICs.
  • Multiple RAID levels – 0, 1, 10, 5, 5+1 (hot spare) and 6, all with automatic RAID rebuild and hot swap functionality.
  • Active Directory Support and remote access for anytime, anywhere data availability.
  • Certified for VMware® vSphere 4.0, Citrix® XenServer™, and Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2.
  • Cross-platform file sharing with Windows®, Mac® and Linux computers, and simultaneous iSCSI block access for the most efficient storage utilization.
  • Iomega Personal Cloud technology, a revolutionary web-based computing architecture that connects your Iomega network storage device to other individuals and/or devices via the Internet. 
  • Windows Active Directory Trusted Domains, MSCS and Hyper-V Live Migration Support.
  • Data replication and device-to-device copy jobs keeps your data backed up and secure.
  • With the embedded AXIS® Video Hosting System (AVHS), the PX Series provides support for up to 12 AXIS IP security cameras for affordable and superior video surveillance solutions compared to today’s traditional DVR-based surveillance installations.
