With the BG6 Series, KIOXIA claims users will experience exceptional flash performance without compromising affordability or capacity. This makes it an ideal choice for both commercial and consumer notebooks and desktops. As such, these drives are equipped with fully matured Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, enabling a DRAM-less, high-performance SSD by utilizing a portion of the host memory (DRAM) as its own.

The Kioxia BG6 Series offers various features and benefits, including capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB, and PCIe standard 64GT/s interface (Gen4 x4 lanes). For performance, KIOXIA claims sequential read speeds of up to 6,000MB/s, sequential write speeds of up to 5,300MB/s, and random read and write performance of up to 850,000 IOPS and 900,000 IOPS respectively.

It also supports forward-looking NVMe technology 1.4c feature set and basic management command over System Management Bus (SMBus), allowing for enhanced thermal management. Additionally, the BG6 Series adheres to the latest TCG Pyrite and Opal standards, ensuring end-to-end data protection, and includes features like Power Loss Notification signal support to safeguard data during forced shutdowns. It also offers sideband signal support for both 1.8V and 3.3V, and supports the platform FW recovery feature.

KIOXIA has indicated that there will be 256GB and 512GB models.
