LaCie and Symwave today announced the world’s first dual hard drive RAID storage solution based on USB 3.0. LaCie’s new 2Big USB 3.0 solution can handle two drives in RAID 0/1 and is powered by Symwave’s new SW6318 storage controller.
The 2Big USB 3.0 drive is designed for users who require extreme fast data transfer rates; the device can do up to 275MB/s burst. Put into perspective, the 2Big USB 3.0 can perform real-time streaming and editing of several HD video files simultaneously.
The LaCie 2Big USB 3.0 drive will be showcased at CES 2010 and will be available in early 2010.
