IT is facing the challenge of such as flat budgets, shrinking talent pools, and the big issues of gaining insights from the huge amounts of data being generated while keeping everything secure. Security is becoming increasingly more difficult as customers are moving to consumption-based models. To top everything off, enterprises need to be able to meet the demands of today while being ready for the demands of future technology that is right around the corner. Lenovo’s refreshed data center portfolio can help assuage some of the concerns. With Intel’s new CPU and Optane DC persistent memory, users can see double-digit increases in performance and up to 12.5 times faster recovery from outages (planned or unplanned).

The industry that probably stands to gain the most from higher CPU performance is the financial industry. With datastreams updating up to millions of times per second, lots of processing power is need to analyze large volumes of data fast enough to react to changing markets. Lenovo worked with Intel and KX to unveil a new record-breaking STAC-M3 benchmark results with its flagship ThinkSystem SR950 and SR650 servers featuring the latest Intel CPUs and Optane DC persistent memory modules.

Lenovo Intel Select Solutions
Aside from its new ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile portfolio additions, Lenovo is developing other solutions to be verified by Intel as Intel Select Solutions, taking advantage of the Second Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor. These solutions are engineered specifically for key workloads: SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server and Red Hat OpenShift Containers. Lenovo intends to announce additional Intel Select Solutions utilizing the Second Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor including VMware vSAN, Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI), Blockchain Hyperledger Fabric, & Microsoft Azure Stack HCI in the coming months.
