Compuverde Reports A Strong 2017

Compuverde is reporting an excellent 2017. Highlights include:

  • Thirteen technical alliance partners, as well as 49 channel partners representing the company across six continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.
  • A strategic partnership with one of the world’s largest and oldest IT companies.
  • Widespread vertical industry adoption of Compuverde’s unified storage offering, including: global finance, broadcast corporations, post-production companies, institutes, universities, oil and mining, service providers, telcos, security and video surveillance.
  • Average dollar figure of deployments has grown 533% year over year in 2017.
  • Average deployment in petabytes has grown 261% year over year last year as well.
  • A 2 PB deal for an autonomous car project launched in 2017, and Compuverde delivered its first 5 PB deal.

Kaminario Launches Software-Defined Composable Data Platform

Kaminario continues on its path of becoming a software company with the introduction of its SDS offering, Kaminario Cloud Fabric. Cloud Fabric will leverage the K2 composable data platform enabling Cloud service providers to embrace SDDC. Cloud Fabric will be deployed on a certified, industry-standard hardware stack available through Tech Data and is available now.

StrongBox’s StrongLink Is Now Certified With Spectra Logic BlackPearl

StrongBox’s data management platform, StrongLink, is now certified with Spectra Logic’s BlackPearl converged storage system. With the combined technology, customers will be able to simplify data management and cross-platform automation across various storage systems including Spectra Logic’s tape storage. Benefits include:

  • Reduce complexity – by seamlessly optimizing data migration across multiple storage silos and the cloud without user interruption
  • Reduce risk – with automated data protection, data copy management and policy-based storage automation
  • Improve productivity – Users can find and access their data in a policy-based global namespace without interruption, even during data migrations or technology refresh.

Panzura Sees 100% Growth In 2017

Another company reporting a good 2017 is Panzura. Highlights from their year include:

  • Record bookings and customer adoption: Q4 bookings were up 100% and new customer acquisition was up 115 percent over the same quarter in the prior year
  • Accelerated channel momentum: Q4 channel growth was up 360% over the same quarter in the prior year; channel bookings were up 76% for the year
  • Record data under management: 140% growth in petabytes under management for the year, with 90% of data stored in AWS and Azure
  • Category-best customer satisfaction: Net Promoter Score (NPS), an industry measurement of customer satisfaction, reached 78

SonicWall Extends Its Firewalls To Virtual

SonicWall announced new public beta trials of its automated real-time breach detection and prevention platform. These trials include SonicWall Capture Client a new unified client platform, SonicWall Network Security (NSv) virtual next-generation firewalls, SonicWall virtual web application firewalls and the beta for SonicOS 6.5.1 includes support for new firewall APIs enabling the scripting and automation of firewall functions. These new offerings are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2018.

Cisco Completes Its Acquisition Of BroadSoft

In its quest to seemingly acquire every company on the planet, Cisco has acquired the cloud communications, collaboration, and contact center solution company, BroadSoft. Cisco is paying $55 per share, in cash, in exchange for each share of BroadSoft common stock, for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $1.9 billion net of cash and investment, assuming fully diluted shares including conversion of debt. BroadSoft’s CEO and his organization are joining Cisco.
