NVIDIA GRID Has Been Expanded In Azure & Integrated Into Citrix
At Citrix Synergy 2017, Microsoft announced that it was expanding NVIDIA's reach with Microsoft Azure cloud with NVIDIA GRID. Citrix also announced that it was integrating with NVIDIA GRID to include GPU insights and virtual machine migration in applications. As more companies become cloud-based the need for GPU's in the cloud will only increase.
Login VSI Announces Login PI 2.0
Login VSI annonunced the latest version of its digital workplace performance solution, Login PI 2.0. Login PI provides companies with insights that can be vital such as network latency and logon details. The latest version adds Service Level Agreement (SLA) reports (beneficial as more organizations move to a service delivery model), a intuitive UI, and a more streamlined installation and configuration.
Cisco Announces IoT Threat Defense
The number of connected devices (or the Internet of Things, IoT) is rapidly increasing, with this increase in number and use the threat level increases as well. Cohesity Partners With HPE & Releases DataPlatform Cloud Edition On Azure
Cohesity announced that it has partnered with HPE for them to resell Cohesity software on their enterprise-class servers and network switches. This could make HPE a one stop shop for both primary and secondary storage needs. Cohesity is also announced that that its DataPlatform Cloud Edition can be scaled out onto Microsoft Azure with the following benefits:
- Running Cohesity DataPlatform as a virtual appliance on Azure
- Transferring data from on-premises Cohesity clusters to the Azure cloud platform
- Using Azure cloud infrastructure for test/dev and disaster recovery workflows
Crucial Announces 128GB DDR4 LRDIMM Server Memory
Crucial announced even denser DDR4 LRDIMM server memory, with 128GB module. The new memory has speeds up to 2666MT/s, is compatible with OEM servers, optimized for future generation Intel Xeon processors, and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. The new modules are expected to be available in the third quarter of this year.
DDN Launches Machine Learning At Scale
DataDirect Networks (DDN) has launched new machine learning programs to tackle scaling issues that some industries run into, such as manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, smart cities, medical research and natural-language processing. DDN claims that unlike other machine leaning applications at scale, they can deliver up to 40X faster performance than competitive Enterprise scale out NAS and up to 6X faster performance than Enterprise SAN solutions, while providing faster results against more types of data using a wide variety of techniques.
