This week’s News Bits we look at a number of small announcements, small in terms of the content not the impact they have. Synology has announced another router, the RT2600ac. Actifio’s copy data virtualization technology, Sky, is now available on Azure Marketplace. IBM has broken the U.S. patent record. Atlantis, Citrix, and HPE have partnered to release what they are referring as the first purpose-built virtual workspace appliance. Research from 451 suggests that the application container business will be a $2.7 billion market in the next four years. HPE has expanded its StoreVirtual 3200 to now scale out as opposed to just up. And Zetta has been awarded a new patent for its direct-to-cloud data protection solution.
