QNAP Launches ECx80 Pro Series Turbo NAS & REXP-1000 Pro High-density Expansion Enclousre

Today QNAP systems launched new enterprise-class ECx80 Pro Series Turbo NAS and a new high-density expansion enclosure, the REXP-1000 Pro, both feature a tower form factor. These new 8-bay and 10-bay Turbo NAS models can deliver scalability, up to 250TB (when combined with the REXP-1000 Pro), and high performance, throughput up 2,200 MB/s and 226,000 IOPS.


Today QNAP systems launched new enterprise-class ECx80 Pro Series Turbo NAS and a new high-density expansion enclosure, the REXP-1000 Pro, both feature a tower form factor. These new 8-bay and 10-bay Turbo NAS models can deliver scalability, up to 250TB (when combined with the REXP-1000 Pro), and high performance, throughput up 2,200 MB/s and 226,000 IOPS.

The QNAP ECx80 Pro Turbo NAS Series uses Quad-Core Intel Xeon 3.4 GHz processors to achieve their high performance. The NAS Series comes 10GbE ready, supports SSD caching options through up to two internal mSATA slots, and can be expanded through the addition of up to two REXP-1000 Pro expansion enclosures as the demands of the business increase. Not only is there flexibility with expansion there is also cross-platform file sharing for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This is ideal for a business without a large number of users that don’t necessarily have uniform systems. And the series offers flexible backup and recovery solutions, such as QNAP NetBak Replicator utility for Windows users and Apple Time Machine for Mac users.

The Turbo NAS Series has the new IT Management Station, An IT system management solution that simplifies daily tasks and IT Management. IT Management Station allows businesses to centralize their management of multi-OS and multi-site IT assets with several business applications.

The Series supports several virtualization solutions such as VMware vSphere 5.5, Citrix XenServer, VMware VAAI, QNAP vSphere Client plug-in, Microsoft ODX, QNAP SMI-S and is compatible with Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server 2012. It also supports disaster recovery solutions such as Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft Azure, ElephantDrive, Symform, and Google Drive and third-party back-ups like Veeam Backup & Replication, and Acronis True Image. And the QNAP App Center provides hundreds of free apps for backup, management, and communication.
