The TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X is equipped with four 2.5-inch SATA SSD bays and two M.2 NVMe Gen 3 x4 SSD bays.  The latter of which allow for SSD caching for increased IOPS performance and a reduced storage volume latency. Their built-in dual-port 10GBASE-T network card, four native 2.5GbE ports, and support for Port Trunking and failover make for an affordable managed/unmanaged 10GbE/2.5GbE switches.

In addition, the PCIe Gen 3 x4 slots allow users to add even more flexibility to the TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X NAS solutions. This includes two QXP-T32P Thunderbolt 3 expansion cards, which allow users to connect up to four Thunderbolt-equipped workstations for better efficiency in 4K workflows, file storage, backup, and sharing. Users can also add:

  • 5GbE/10GbE/25GbE/40GbE network cards
  • 32Gbps/16Gbps Fibre Channel cards
  • QM2 cards to add M.2 SSDs or 10GbE (10GBASE-T) ports
  • QXP storage expansion cards to connect QNAP JBOD units
  • Graphics cards (leveraging the 550W power supply unit) to supercharge video editing/transcoding or enable GPU passthrough to virtual machines

Moreover, its direct HDMI output supports up to 4K @30Hz, giving creative users the ability to to demonstrate their work without the need of a separate computer.

For data reduction, the new QNAP NAS solutions offer powerful inline data deduplication, compression, and compaction, which significantly help to reduce the overall storage footprint while improving overall performance, says the company. Moreover, QuTS hero supports near-unlimited snapshots and versioning for enhanced data protection while the advanced block-based real-time SnapSync ensures that the primary NAS and the secondary NAS always keep the same data.
