Today Rubrik announced the latest release of its Cloud Data Management solution, Rubrik Andes 5.2. The latest update is said to come with the following benefits: “blazingly” fast VMware performance, improved control for Oracle DBAs, and additional enterprise advancements to address compliance within highly regulated industries. Rubrik goes on to state that Andes 5.2 will give organizations the ability to increase business resiliency, accelerate development cycles with faster database cloning, and recapture administrative time by eliminating complexity.

Rubrik Andes 5.2

First up, the company is touting the performance benefits with VMware in Rubrik Andes 5.2. With 5.2, the company introduces multi-node data streaming for VMware vSphere to achieve up to 5x backup speed performance improvement for large multi-terabyte VMs. Other leaps of performance for VMware include a 3x recovery speed boost enabling aggressive RTOs and RPOs for growing VMware requirements.

Moving on to Oracle DBAs, Rubrik Andes 5.2 states that it can accelerate development cycle times by quickly creating test/dev clones, which in turn can give users more flexibility and control for these DBAs. Andes 5.2 uses roll-forward recovery that can automatically restore a damaged database to the most recent state before the failure occurred.

As we continue to navigate uncertain times, security, compliance, and resiliency become more important. Rubrik Andes 5.2 states it can help here as well by providing enhanced role-based access to the administration console, that in turn allows companies to set permissions to fit exact needs. To improve compliance, Andes 5.2 has a set of pre-defined roles that can also time as well by granting access without risk of exposing archived data or backup policies. Rubrik has become more resilient by supporting multiple replication targets and ability to quickly identify objects that fall out of compliance to their prescribed SLA policies.

Availability

The Rubrik Andes 5.2 Released beta is currently being used with general availability set for some time in May.
