Sandisk Shipping 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC Card

Consumer

Sandisk has started shipping their 64GB Ultra SDXC card (SDSDRH-064G-A11). The card marks Samsung’s highest capacity SD card to date and features 15MB/sec read speed. The best part though is the price, $349.99 retail, making it the most affordable high capacity SD card on the market.

Other highlights of the card include meeting the USB 3.0 spec, which makes it possible to manufacture SD cards in capacities up to 2TB. The exFAT file structure also lets users record long-duration HD video for instance. The SD 3.0 spec is new, but we’re already seeing several camera manufacturers supporting it with their latest generation digital cameras and digital video cameras. Adoption of the SDXC standard is also expected in home theater gear, mobile phones and so on.

Availability

The Sandisk 64GB SDXC cards are shipping now for a retail of $349.99.
