At CES 2016 SanDisk Corporation announced that it has upgraded two of its more popular USB drives with more capacity and performance (SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick and SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0). The Connect Wireless Stick now has a capacity of 200GB and the Ultra Dual has a capacity of 128GB. SanDisk is also releasing a new portable SSD that is designed to survive rough travel while still delivering fast and reliable storage, the SanDisk Extreme 510 Portable SSD.

Bumping the capacity up to 200GB makes the Connect Wireless Stick the highest capacity flash drive SanDisk currently makes. The higher capacity coupled with the devices ability to wirelessly transfer and share files makes it ideal for user that have lots of files they wish to transfer between multiple devices. The Connect Wireless Stick supports iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android devices, Fire tablets, Mac and PCs and has the app been updated to support AirPlay with Apple TV, and Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV as well as 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The SanDisk Connect App can be downloaded through Apple’s App Store, the Google Play Store, or the Amazon Appstore.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 is a mobile flash drive that expands the capacity of Android smartphones and tablets. Users can plug the drive into their phone or tablet and the Memory Zone App will automatically launch. Users can now take photos and videos with no concern about filling up the mobile devices. Or they can preload content onto the drive to take with they on extended travel. SanDisk states they have improved the performance of the drive as well achieving speeds of 150MB/s (from drive to computer).

Building off of the SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD, the new 510 offers even faster speed than the 500 (quoted at 430MB/s compared to the 500’s quoted 415MB/s) it is also impact, dust, and water resistant. Designed with professionals that work in the field frequently, such as photographers, and need reliable storage that can take a ding or two. The 510 comes with a rubber bumper and a IP55-rating for water and dust resistance. The drive has a capacity of 480GB and features SanDisk SecureAccess software with 128-bit encryption that keeps files safe beyond cushioning them from a fall.
