Seagate has announced its new GoFlex Slim portable external hard drive (STBE320100) measuring 9mm thin, or one-third thinner than the company’s current GoFlex drives. The 2.5-inch drive has USB 3.0 and is available in a 320GB capacity for $99.99.
The GoFlex Slim’s hard drive has a 7200RPM rotational speed and transfers data up to 10x faster than USB 2.0. Backup software is included with the drive. The GoFlex Slim has a durable metallic finish designed to resist scratching.
A GoFlex Slim for Mac will be available in May for $99. It will be HFS+ formatted out of the box and fully compatible with Apple TIme Machine software.
