SP Industrial Enterprise SSD Lineup Adds PCIe Gen5 E1.S and U.2 Drives up to 15.3TB With eTLC and 3 DWPD Options

Enterprise  ◇  SSD

SP Industrial introduced six enterprise SSDs, spanning E1.S, U.2, M.2 2280, and 2.5-inch SATA form factors, aimed at AI and data center storage as well as enterprise boot drives. Every model in the lineup pairs 3D eTLC flash with DRAM and power failure protection (PFP), and the drives that offer a higher endurance rating reach 3 DWPD. Capacity tops out at 15.3TB on U.2, and both the E1.S and U.2 lines include PCIe Gen5 models.

SP Industrial, the industrial storage arm of Silicon Power, has built its catalog largely for industrial applications such as automotive, networking, automation, and edge AI, and its existing U.2 drives top out at PCIe Gen4 with the SSU3M0R. The new E1.S and U.2 models add PCIe Gen5 options to that lineup.

E1.S and U.2 Drives for Data Center Storage

The EE1S3F0 is the E1.S model, a PCIe Gen5 drive with 3D eTLC flash, DRAM, PFP, and namespace support. Capacities reach 7.6TB, and SP Industrial offers it with either a 1 DWPD or a 3 DWPD endurance rating. The company positions the E1.S drive for 1U data center servers, citing the form factor’s airflow and the flexibility it gives system builders in thermal design.

Three U.2 models, the ESSU3J0, ESSU3F0, and ESSU3I0, cover both PCIe Gen5 and Gen4 interfaces, though SP Industrial has not said which model uses which interface. All three carry 3D eTLC flash, DRAM, and PFP, with namespace support across the U.2 lineup. Capacities reach 15.3TB, the largest of the six drives, and selected U.2 models are rated for up to 3 DWPD.

M.2 2280 and 2.5-Inch SATA Boot Drives

The EMEC3I0 is a PCIe Gen4 M.2 2280 boot drive with 3D eTLC flash, DRAM, and PFP, offered from 480GB to 1.9TB for enterprise systems with little room to spare. The ESSD3I0 handles SATA, with a SATA 3 interface, the same eTLC, DRAM, and PFP combination, and capacities from 480GB to 7.6TB at 1 DWPD or 3 DWPD. SP Industrial cites low power draw, low heat, and hot-plug support in the 2.5-inch form factor, and positions the drive for boot duty and for systems built around SATA.
