Stratus and SanDisk Deliver Uptime Assurance for ftScalable G2 Storage

by Mark Kidd

Stratus now offers SanDisk Lightning SSDs in its ftScalable G2 Storage array, which can connect to the entire ftServer line and features an 8Gb Fibre Channel or 10Gb iSCSI host connection and 6Gb SAS backend with DupliCache technology for write performance. Stratus offers an “uptime assurance” guarantee across its storage line, made possible by Stratus’ proactive remote monitoring and management technologies.

The Lightning-enhanced ftScalable G2 array, manufactured for Stratus by Dot Hill, offers availability features including hot spares and redundant, hot-plug components to protect mission-critical data stored on the SanDisk drives, while support for both solid state and spinning media allow optimized performance based upon data usage patterns. The global installed base of Stratus ftServer systems is operating at nearly 99.9999 percent uptime reliability, or approximately 31 seconds of downtime annually per server.

The ftScalable G2 array supports up to 72 drives, of which the SanDisk Lightning 200GB SLC SAS SSDs can be mixed in.
