Viking Modular Solutions has started sampling their new line of SSDs. The 2.5" drives will be available in both a consumer line (SATA 3GB/s) and enterprise version (SAS 6Gb/s).
The drives feature SandForce processors and will be configured with MLC and SLC NAND chips depending on the application.
Other highlights include; SSD-specific SMART command support, protection against catastrophic flash page/block/die failures, patented power fail protection, AES-128 encryption, SAS compatibility and optional throttling to enhance drive life.
No information on capacities, ship date or cost was made available.
